Every body design is different. Each body has its own perks. Did you ever hate that one feature of your face or body? Were you ever criticized because of it? And seriously wanted to change or remove it? Well, you’re not alone. We’re pretty sure most of us have gone through the same. This too is another hurdle lying on our journey to self acceptance. Our body contains several components based on which the society judges. Our body has appearance, skin and features. Previously, we’ve discussed the first two.. Today we’re going to talk about features. The beauty standards are different in various parts of the world. Some prefer small eyes whereas others prefer large eyes. Some like a slim figure whereas others prefer a bulkier figure and so on. The list is definitely endless. However, what is the universal standard? What is the universal standard that judges about someone’s beauty based on their features? It’s self acceptance.
As said before, standards of beauty are different in various parts of the world. First off, we don’t have anything called “standards” or such. These standards were just opinions and outgrew to become such solid, indestructible policies of the society. They’re just opinions. Everyone has different terms of beauty but what is your term of beauty? You. You should consider yourself beautiful. By this it necessarily doesn’t mean to be good looking or attractive. It means to be beautiful inside. Some people tend to hate one or more particular feature(s). It could be your nose, eyes, forehead, shoulders, ears and so on. But the question is why are you ashamed or hate it? What has the poor thing done? Why are you agonized by the feature? The answer is as expected. You’re hating your feature because of some abnormal opinion that outgrew to be a societal opinion. People want a particular desire to be in an ideal way. However, when it isn’t, they bully. Again, you’re terrified by the mere thought of getting bullied or criticized by someone for naturally looking like how you are. Features like wide teeth, dark skin, joint eyebrows, moustache, flappy arms are hated. Why? You know the drill.
Instead what you should do is to be very open minded. Be brave and educate others as well. Analyze the situation. Why is this feature hated? Supposedly take, jointed eyebrows. What’s wrong with those? Instead of haven’t two separate eyebrows, you have a jointed one. If separate eyebrows are considered to be normal and beautiful, why can’t jointed eyebrows be? Analyze the situation like this. This will actually help you to get an overview and understand that these standards are the just revolutionized opinions of ancient people.
They’re unique and have their own sets of perks. We shouldn’t be the ones to shed their beauty. Instead encourage them to flaunt their features. Help the feature to outshine their inner beauty and prove it to the world that they too are equally beautiful as the others.
Stay confident with your own features. Love them and you’ll be much more confident and happier!
